Details about the projectHere you may find any information about the project and about what your involvement as collaborator would entail. In case of unique circumstances regarding your team (e.g., authorship or data collection) please get in touch with us at [email protected].
If you're interested in joining as a collaborator, please fill in the full collaborator agreement here. |
Collaborator involvementCollaborators can contribute to the project in two possible ways:
|
AuthorshipAuthorship will be limited to 2 researchers per “team” (e.g., PI + PhD student). A team is a unit that collects data from 500 participants. If, for example, a third person (from the same lab, department, or university of an existing team) wants to participate in the project, they will be considered a separate team and will be asked to collect an additional 500 participants in order to be included as authors.
Authorship order will be determined according to contributions using the CRediT taxonomy. As per APA guidelines, those contributing higher intellectual work will gain higher authorship positions. We will describe each person's specific contributions in the author's note. |
TimelineIn the spirit of open science, we are planning to submit this work as a single registered report. Therefore, data collection will begin only after our submission has been reviewed. Please note that this timeline may experience delayes due to pilot testing and/or the review processes.
The planned timeline is as follows:
|
SampleWe ask each team to collect 500 participants over 18 years old.
While we highly encourage collaborators to collect a nationally representative sample, we will also accept a convenience sample. Teams from the same country are also encouraged to pool resources to collect a nationally representative sample. |
Data collectionAll data collection will take place online on Qualtrics. Collaborators will be provided with a .qsf to upload to their account. We are able to accommodate those who use a free version of Qualtrics and those not proficient with the platform.
Importantly, for data quality concerns, the study will have to be run by itself and not as part of, or in the same session of, other research projects. The survey will be no longer than 15 minutes. |
Study design and Ethics approvalThe study is a 2X3 between subjects experiment. The lead team will share the specific design with the collaborators in October 2022.
All teams will be asked to obtain IRB approval from their university. |
